Chef Hui is mobilizing our network of chefs, cooks, volunteers and food community supporters for short- and long-term relief across Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island following Hurricane Lala.
Our focus is sustained, skilled, community-rooted support — the kind that shows up after the immediate response fades. For now, we are working closely with community partners and our Oʻahu Feeding Task Force members, following their lead. Our focus is currently on the Westside of Oʻahu, Mililani/Kīpapa, and Lāʻie to Koʻolaupoko.
In the coming days and weeks, we will continue following their lead while preparing to turn any surplus local ingredients and donated produce into meals. We will continue to do our best to connect affected farmers to kitchen capacity so nothing goes to waste and our farmers are supported. If you are in need of support or want to cook or volunteer please fill out our Feeding Taskforce form (linked on our website).
If you want to support Chef Hui's capacity to cook for the long haul — ingredients, kitchen time, or funds for meal production — we appreciate that support. All funds from this campaign will go directly to storm relief efforts.
